Bell Flavors and Fragrances EMEA offers geranyl butyrate
natural (FEMA# 2512, CAS# 106-29-6; synonym: [(2E)- 3,7-
dimethylocta- 2,6-dienyl]butanoate), which is a clear, colorless
to pale yellow liquid that has a fresh, fruity and sweet odor with
apricot notes. Geranyl butyrate is used in most fruity and floral
fragrances. In particular, rose notes benefit from the ingredient, which adds a long-lasting effect at 2% to 5%. In white floral
fragrances, geranyl butyrate can be used as a modifier at around
0.5%. A red berry effect can be achieved with geranyl butyrate
in fruity fragrances.
The company also features hexyl isobutyrate (FEMA#
3172, CAS# 2349-07-7; synonym: hexyl-2-methylpropanoate),
a clear colorless liquid that has a fruity apple odor. Hexyl isobutyrate is applied in all types of fruity fragrances at levels up to
4%. It has good effects in, for example, apple, banana or wine-type fragrances, and can be used as a component in cosmetics.
Levulinic acid (99%) (CAS# 499-75-2) from SAFC is a natural
food-grade ingredient that has acidic, sweet, creamy and slight
dairy taste characteristics. Its odor is characterized as sweet
caramel, acidic, acetoin and buttery. Suggested uses in flavor
include butterscotch, maple, brown sugar and caramel. This
ingredient is natural and kosher.
The company also offers D-camphor (96%) (FEMA# 2230,
CAS# 464-49-3), which is medicinal, camphoraceous, mentho-lic and woody. Its odor is camphor, minty, phenolic, herbal and
woody. This food-grade ingredient is natural and kosher. It can
be used in basil, pennyroyal, camphor, lavandin, and sage flavor
and fragrance applications. In fragrance, suggested uses include
cologne, floral, nutmeg, rosemary, sassafras, orange blossom
and pine profiles.
M/S Indswift Laboratories Ltd. offers l-menthol (CAS# 2216-
51-5), which are colorless shiny crystals with a peppermint odor.
This ingredient is natural, and suggested applications include
food, flavor, fragrance, cosmetics and medicines.

8006-90-4), which is a colorless to slight yellow liquid with a

Bhoomi Natural Products and Exports Pvt Ltd. offers nutmeg
oil, which is obtained by steam distillation. The oil is colorless to
pale yellow, with a taste and odor of nutmeg. This ingredient is
soluble in alcohol and is insoluble in water. Suggested usage in
flavor includes baked goods, dental creams, beverages, candies,
meats and syrups. Other applications include cough syrup, pain
balm and congestion-reducing balms.
Teawolf offers hibiscus concentrated extract, which is a dark
red viscous liquid. This ingredient, which comprises filtered
water and extractives of hibiscus, should be mixed well before
use and has a shelf life of three months in the original sealed
container under stated storage conditions.
Firmenich offers Indocolore 949021, which
offers hints of animal, floral and hyacinth notes
that give lift and diffusion to compositions.

Patchouli cristallisé (CAS# 84238-39-1, CAS# 8014-09-3)
from Ventos has the refined, woody, balsamic, spicy and dry
notes found in patchouli oil. It combines very well with woody
notes, as well as labdanum, vetiver, sandalwood and cedarwood
derivatives. It offers a wide range of applications in fine fragrances and toiletries.
Renessenz offers anethole (FEMA# 2086, CAS# 4180- 23-8;
synonym: benzene (1-methoxy-4-(1-propenyl)-,(E)-), which is
derived from crude sulfate turpentine (CS T). In addition to being
sourced from CST, a sustainable and renewable raw material,
the production process consumes low amounts of wastewater
and generates no organic waste. The anethole comprises at least
99.3% trans-anethole. It can be used in a wide variety of flavor
and fragrance applications for a sweet, anise and licorice odor
profile. On tasting at 10 ppm, it has a characteristic anise and
licorice note with a lingering sweet aftertaste.
Tea tree oil Australian (FEMA# 3902, CAS# 68647-73-4, CAS#
85085-48-9) from ABP is part of the herbaceous, earthy odor
family, and has a powerful, fresh, warm, spicy-earthy scent. It
blends well with spice oils such as cinnamon and clove; herbaceous materials such as rosemary and thyme; floral notes such
as lavender; and citrus such as orange, lemon and mandarin.
Suggested uses include aromatherapy, fragrance and cosmetics.
The company also supplies sandalwood oil Australian
distilled (CAS# 8024-35-9, CAS# 92875-02-0), which is part of
the woody odor family and has a sweet, warm, tenacious woody
odor, with a slightly smoky balsamic background. It blends well
with woody, green and floral oils such as lavender, and citrus oils
such as mandarin, orange and lemon. Its suggested uses include
aromatherapy, cosmetics and fragrance.
